Was bedeutet „faire Promotion“ im Hochschulalltag – und wie können gute Rahmenbedingungen für Promovierende geschaffen werden?

Im Lunchtalk „Fair promovieren“ möchten wir gemeinsam mit Promovierenden über zentrale Aspekte einer gelungenen Promotionsphase ins Gespräch kommen: von Betreuung und Arbeitsbedingungen über Erwartungen und Kommunikation bis hin zu Vereinbarkeit von Familie und wissenschaftlicher Karriere.

Lernen Sie zentrale Beratungs- und Unterstützungsangebote der Universität kennen – darunter den Personalrat, die Ombudspersonen, die stellvertretende Gleichstellungsbeauftragte, die Antidiskriminierungsstelle sowie das ZGS. In kurzen Impulsen stellen sich die jeweiligen Anlaufstellen vor und geben Einblicke in ihre Unterstützungsangebote für Promovierende.

Der Lunchtalk bietet außerdem Raum, auch schwierige oder belastende Themen im Promotionsalltag anzusprechen – etwa Konflikte, Unsicherheiten, Diskriminierungserfahrungen oder Fragen zu Arbeitsbedingungen. In geschützter Atmosphäre können Sie sich informieren, Fragen stellen und Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten kennenlernen. Ihre Perspektiven, Erfahrungen und Rückmeldungen sind ausdrücklich willkommen und fließen in die Weiterentwicklung der Beratungs- und Unterstützungsangebote für Promovierende ein. Der Lunchtalk versteht sich damit auch als Dialogformat, das bestehende Strukturen kritisch begleitet und weiterdenkt.

Im Anschluss laden wir Sie herzlich ein, bei einem gemeinsamen Mittagssnack ins Gespräch zu kommen, Fragen zu stellen und Ihre Themen einzubringen – ganz unkompliziert und in entspannter Atmosphäre.

What are fair conditions for doctoral researchers in everyday university life and how can we support them? 

In this lunchtime talk, we would like to discuss key aspects of a successful PhD process with doctoral candidates: from supervision and working conditions, through expectations and communication, to balancing family life with an academic career.

Find out about the university’s key advisory and support services – including the Staff Council, the Ombudspeople, the Deputy Equal Opportunities Officer, the Anti-Discrimination Office and the CGS. In short presentations, the respective contact points will introduce themselves and provide insights into the support they offer to PhD students. 

The Lunchtalk also provides a space to address difficult or stressful issues encountered in day-to-day doctoral life – such as conflicts, uncertainties, experiences of discrimination, or questions regarding working conditions. In a safe and supportive environment, you can find out more, ask questions and learn about the support available. Your perspectives, experiences and feedback are very much welcome and will be taken into account in the further development of the advisory and support services for doctoral candidates. The Lunchtalk is thus also intended as a dialogue format that critically examines existing structures and explores ways to improve them.

Afterwards, we warmly invite you to join us for a light lunch, where you can engage in conversation, ask questions and raise your own topics – in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
