On 21 October, I presented my paper at the conference "Diachronic Metalepsis: Borderline Cases and Final Discussions" in Wuppertal, Germany, which took place on 20-21 October, entitled "A Comparative Study of Metalepsis in the Novel and Film "The Book Thief" Based on the Model of Julian Hanebeck". This conference was the last meeting of the Metalepsis network, held in the presence of distinguished members of the group. I was able to attend this conference thanks to the indescribable support of the Centre for Graduate Studies (ZGS) of the University of Wuppertal, which funded my travel. In terms of developing my research personality at an international level, this was a big step for me. This trip gave me a unique opportunity to meet the members of the group and consult with them about my possible future projects. Moreover, this trip was a pleasant and effective start to my Ph.D. project "The Role of Metalepsis in the Audience's Interactive Approach to the Image and Diegetic Universe in the Contemporary Cinema", as with the advice of the group members, I was able to identify key points about my work and apply them to the detailed project of my Ph.D.
I am very grateful to the University of Wuppertal, especially Prof. Ursula Kocher and Prof. Roy Sommer, as well as Dr. Julian Hanebeck, Martin Sebastian Hammer, and Stefanie Jansen for their unstinting help. Remarkably, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the unique support of Dr Thomas Kuhn-Treichel as head of the metalepsis network. Finally, I must say that all aspects of this trip, including transport, accommodation, conference attendance, and paper presentation, were handled in the best possible way with the sincere support and assistance of the aforementioned individuals and ZGS.
Sincerely,
Fatemeh Ahmadi
